Objective

Our team was asked to carry out a 3D scan of the interior of the Maison généralice des Soeurs-de-Notre-Dame-du-Perpétuel-Secours, located in the municipality of St-Damien-de-Buckland. This building is part of Quebec’s cultural heritage.

In order to give the building a new vocation, the architects needed an accurate, detailed digital representation of the building’s interior structure. 3D digitizing offers reliable results, enabling a thorough understanding of the space and facilitating decision-making throughout the renovation and re-purposing process of this historic site.

Methodology

Data acquisition:

We use the VLX 2 mobile lidar scanner to capture high-resolution 3D data of the entire building interior, taking into account different perspectives and viewing angles.
